Proposal Story!
Ok, so I suppose I should start by telling how it happened. For those of you who weren't there, let me just start by saying that Jonathan and I met at church. I actually knew his family before I ever met him. His family was involved in youth at the church, as was I. He was away at school so I had not met him before. Long story short, he took a semester off school and came home, our first date was Brittney, and Brady McDaniel's wedding, and 1 1/2 years later we were engaged!
The proposal. He started the day off by leaving a note and a rose in my car. I was supposed to meet him for breakfast. Again, long story short, for the next 2 hours I was guided through a scavenger hunt all around San Antonio, finding notes and roses at random restaurants, stores, and familiar locations. I knew he wanted to propose so I was expecting a ring at the end of this hunt. Much to my disappointment, at the end of the hunt was a grinning Jonathan, a McAlester's sandwich, but no ring. I, for the rest of the day, tried to hide my disappointment, perhaps not very effectively, Jonathan was thrilled with my reaction. That night, we had youth group, it was a Wednesday night. He was supposed to speak that evening and had asked me to be a part of an illustration about community. So when I was asked on stage I thought nothing of it. He began reading verses about husbands and wives, I thought this a little strange but could see how this could be a part of community. Before I knew it he was on one knee with a beautiful ring asking me to marry him! I was so excited I started to laugh, all the while the youth was screaming and clapping, etc. I said yes and you know the rest!
So 3 months down the road we are well into our planning and the big day is quickly approaching! I have created this blog to keep anyone interested posted on what is going on. I will have registry information, pictures, wedding details, and any answers to questions posted. Please take advantage of this blog!
